Just for Love....

Just for Love....

Keeping the creative juices flowing means surrounding yourself - body, mind, & soul - with all the tiny sparks of magic that make your heart sing.

Here’s a list of the things we’re loving right now. Our chef’s kiss! We dig sharing the love as well, so let us know if there are things creating a melody in your soul and we’ll share out into the Sunshine & Pineapples world.

1. Phosphorescence - On awe, wonder & things to sustain you when the world gets dark. By Julia Baird.

Despite being slightly freaked out by Julia’s description of her morning swim, being a big blue dipper myself, this read was definitely an unexpected little soul sparkle. Julia’s battle with cancer and her public persona as a regular host on The Drum are really bit players, taking a back seat to her search for luminescence. This book gives voice to a less ‘wanky’ and more expansive pursuit of joy. Dive in to open your eyes to the beauty surrounding us in the everyday.

2. Candy Heart Grapes

I literally wake up dreaming of these lush, sweetly musky fruits. So much that The Husband’s sick of listening to my grape related waffle. With a taste as close to candy as nature could possibly make, they’re not the worst midnight snack I’ve ever eaten, I can tell you.

3. Loving Local Music

I recently had the absolute joy of going to”Club 28” in my little home town with one of my best girls. Pitched as a night out for those over 28, I was initially less than enthused. In my defense it was cold and my blankie was beckoning. It ended up being a fab night listening to some incredibly talented local muso’s from out little burrow, as they brought to life the good old tunes from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.

4. Jeska Valk

It’s true..artists get major crushes on other artists and Jeska is one of mine. Her work is incredibly detailed and moodily delicious. I’m in love with her treatment of lace and the way she mesmerizes her audience with the exquisite beauty of deep skin. You can find Jeska on IG and FB and at Artlovers Australia.
