Love for Love....18 Feb '24

Keeping the creative juices flowing means surrounding yourself - body, mind, & soul - with all the tiny sparks of magic that make your heart sing.
Here’s a list of the things we’re loving right now. Our chef’s kiss! We dig sharing the love as well, so let us know if there are things creating a melody in your soul and we’ll share out into the Sunshine & Pineapples world.
I have to admit...I bought this for the Hubstar, but it's one of my own favourite things. Our House of Marley Blue Tooth Turntable is regularly on the spin.
There's something about the sound of vinyl, particularly old vinyl with all it's scratches and crackles, that invokes memories like nothing else. Earthy, organic. It has a magic all it's own.
I am a technophobe but this little unit is so easy to use it's almost criminal. Light, sustainable material, completely portable and the sound..lush.
Available in loads of places but House of Marley is your best bet.
Design Destiny - Abbe May
My own personal signed copy for Design Desire- Abbe May - Issue no. 111
Speaking of vinyl, a definite go to is the stunning Abbe May. She is, without a doubt, one of the best guitar players around and hails from our beautiful Western Aus. Aussies may recognise Abbe from her Triple J, Like a Version rendition of Pony. Such a banger. Check it out on You Tube if you haven't seen it already.
Design Desire is one of my particular favourites with a punchy, raw sounds but all her albums are so, so good it's hard to pick just one. Her new record Big Pussy Energy is coming out soon so keep an eye out.
“I want to #BuildAnArmy of Indigenous Psychologists to address the needs of our most vulnerable Indigenous communities across this country” –
Dr Tracy Westerman, NITV, September 2019
The Westerman Jilya Institute for Indigenous Mental Health, (“The Jilya Institute”, or “Jilya”) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled organisation created in response to the 13 deaths of Aboriginal young people in the Kimberley, the subject of the 2019 Fogliani Coronial Inquiry, with the aim of improving access to culturally and clinically complex mental health services which could provide measurable outcomes for high risk communities.
In just TWO years Jilya have supported FORTY ONE Indigenous Psychology Students to ensure there is more capacity for culturally safe treatment and to ensure that never again shall a child die from want in a world of excess.
Check out the Jilya Institute for more information on how to support this amazing cause.
These candles are THE BOM. The are almost addictive. The Blueberry Muffin....OMG! Soy based, natural, gorgeous scents create the absolute perfect creative atmosphere in your home or studio. My favourite brew is Salty Kisses from the Capricorn Coast Collection but really they are all exquisite.
A local business, originally hailing from Yeppoon, and now located in Rockhampton, Coastal Funk on East has a large range of home decor, fashion, and handmade products available in store and on-line.
Also, if you ever have a problem with flies or mosquitos try their amazing Funk Off blend. It works a treat.

She is coming....and she is oh so sweet. I think I'm falling in love. Watercolour, graphite sketches, some oils and acrylics and always that touch of gilding elegance.
I can't wait for you to meet her. xx
