Paint Box.....No. 3

Paint Box.....No. 3

One of my absolute glimmers is the magic of colours and anything new and sparkly really. New paints, pens and pencils send me into a gorgeous spin.  I'm attracted to shiny, new products and art supplies like a kid in a candy store. They make me clap, my feet jiggle, and I tend to make an, 'Ooooo', noise similar to the one I make when someone pours me my first beer.
If you aren't aware, glimmers are small moments that spark joy or peace, and can cue our nervous system to feel safe and calm. Happy. Art supplies  equals happiness.
As a public service to our Sunshine Peeps we want to spread that happy vibe by letting you know what's in our paint box.
Enjoy playing with all the new pretties and let us know if there are any products you think would make us sparkle!
This product is like the McGyver of art supplies. I use it to prep surfaces, for both acrylic and oil painting, in between layers in multi-medium pieces, allowing you to build various mediums  and it's a great adhesive in collage.
It's a water based emulsion that you can either use straight from the bottle or thinned with water to seal most surfaces. By doing this you almost create a fresh canvas over existing layers allowing you to, for example, use charcoal over oils or acrylic over oils. Mediums that are usually not compatible in that particular order.
It also allows you to dilute paint without losing intensity which is a bonus.
These little jewels come in a variety of metallic and shimmery colours but I especially love the brilliant gold powdered pigment.
It adds just the right touch of luxury to your creations. You can either mix it with a pearl mixing medium and spray or use wet or use it dry with brushes and sponges.
Ruco is about more than just paint. They are handmade little delicious treats.  Every component hand crafted in small, sustainable batches and each collection is limited, luxurious and unique. Intentionally made with love.
These are my very favourite watercolour and something I love to receive as a gift. Packaged in gorgeous repurposed tins and handmade pottery and ceramic pans.
They are earthy, luminous and delicious.
Texture, gorgeous texture. I can not tell you how often I reach for this little gem of a tool. They are crafted from flexible silicone and feel oh so comfy in the hand.
So easy to clean and was so many handy applications, you'll find yourself using this wedge so often it will become your very best friend.
I recently need a quick turn around for a custom order art print and had the absolute pleasure of trying this new Australian on-line company.
They have an on-line print and framing service, along with the usual custom orders, and I have to say, the results were simply stunning.
Affordable, quick turnaround and a great product. The company is based in Sydney and I'll definitely be using them again.
