Music to Create To
It's no secret that for an introvert, I can throw together a shindig rivalling  Studio 54. It's my super power.
Curating my creative space is no different. It's all about the ambience people. Even if it is a party just for one. This generally involves invoking the Divine Rock 'n Roll Goddess, putting on some candles and getting the groove going with some almighty playlists and mood lighting.
The tunes I create to are not necessarily those which I would normally listen to on a night out, driving or for pleasure. There's a special magic in creating the right atmosphere to allow the personality of your work to shine through, as with any good dinner party hostess.
Here's some tunes  we drop on the reg to get our creative space vibrating at the right temperature.
  1. Little Finch - Kate Mahood - A new sweet little country, folk offering by one of our own local girls. Little Finch has a beautiful rhythm for creating. It's easy to listen to be there's depth in the lyrics and guitar style that is captivating. You can find Kate's music on Apple or Spotify.
  2. Comin' Home Baby - Mel Torme - Hitting it old school with Mel Torme. Some funky, eclectic jazz tunes that will keep the inspiration flowing like honey.
  3. Breath, Connect, Grow EP - Salt & Steel- These gorgeous souls create that delicious folk, Appalachian groove with loose guitars, stunning harmonies and toe tapping beats. The whole EP is amazing but River is a definite fav.
  4. Glitterfox- If you love Stevie Nicks' voice then it's a fair bet you'll be into Glitterfox. Solange Igoa does the most amazing version of Silver Springs I think i've every heard and their original tracks are simply divine.
  5. Autumn J - A controversial entry for sure, but if you've got a pre-teen in your home who's into the therian, furry lifestyle then you've probably heard Autumn J. Listen, I'm usually not into the Youtube electro pop genre but Autumn actually has got some real bangers. She's often playing in the background of our shared creative spaces and I'm not hating it.
